Surgery

At Scruffy City Animal Hospital, we perform surgeries every Monday through Friday. Most surgeries are considered out-patient procedures, meaning that patients are discharged that same day. In-patient surgeries are typically reserved for those pets with serious medical illness that will need close supervision even after the operation is completed.

Outpatient Surgeries:

By far the most common routine out-patient surgeries are spays and neuters.  Other commonly performed outpatient operations are mass removals, cystotomies, aural hematomas, thyroidectomies, and cherry eye repairs.

Inpatient Surgeries:

Some of the inpatient surgeries that we offer include:

• GI foreign body removal

• Splenectomy

• Leg amputation

• Pyometra

• Urethral catheters for urinary obstruction

• Abdominal exploratory procedures

Many of these patients are systemically ill and require extensive hospitalization with fluid support, injectable medications and close monitoring of vital parameters.  Regardless of the procedure that your pet needs, you can trust our experienced and proficient team to provide top notch care.
